FUNERAL SERVICES FOR RUSSELL HOLMES
Funeral services for Russell Holmes, 68, Auburndale, were conducted
by John Meyers, Jehovah Witness at the Rux Funeral Home, Spencer.
The service was at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6. Burial was in the
West Spencer Cemetery.
Mr. Holmes was born at Sandusky, Wis. on April 4, 1907. His death
occurred at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital.
He was educated in the Sandusky and Lime ridge Schools.
Mr. Holmes was married to Geneva Luce on Aug. 23, 1938 at Richland
Center. She survives him.
Mr. Holmes was a farmer in the Town of Sherman, Route 1, Loyal,
Clark County. He had resided at Auburndale for the last two
years.
He is survived by the following children: Lawrence Holmes, Placid,
Fla. Robert Holmes, Auburndale Virgil Holmes, Auburndale Mrs. Ervin
(Helen) Weaver, Pontiac, Ill. Doris Holmes, Pontiac, Ill. Mrs.
James (Donna) Slown, Dwight, Ill. and Mrs. Daniel (Peggy)
Hilgemann, Edgar. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and
one brother, Hubert Holmes, Margate, Fla. and two sisters, Mrs.
Blanche Bender, Madison and Eva Mohaney, Madison. Two grandsons,
one brother and one sister predeceased him.
Lynn Eckes provided organ music for the services and pallbearers
were John Haslow, Tom Wolfe, Floyd Domres, Jarvis Selberg, Norman
Hilgemann, and Richard Wolfe.
